VeBDisease Project: KickOff at USV Iași

The VeBDisease project, one of the five component projects of the DTEClimate Competence Center, will develop interdisciplinary research following the One Health paradigm. This approach emphasizes that emerging diseases, ecosystem degradation, and climate-driven risks must be addressed through integrated, cross-sectoral research and coordinated policies that consider the health of people, animals, and the planet as part of an interdependent system.

"Ion Ionescu de la Brad" University of Life Sciences (USV) Iași has launched the VeBDisease project aimed at advancing integrated health sciences by addressing the interconnections between human health, animal health, and the environment. This reflects the university’s commitment to the One Health paradigm, which recognizes the interdependence of health outcomes across species and ecosystems.

The project will focus on risk modeling, assessment, and preventive actions across public health, veterinary medicine, and environmental science, aligning academic research with societal needs for sustainable well-being.

Through this effort, USV Iași aims to strengthen collaborations with national and international partners, foster scientific innovation, and contribute to evidence-based policy solutions that support both community health and environmental resilience. The research outcomes are expected to inform strategies for monitoring emerging disease threats, environmental contaminants, and ecosystem degradation while advancing education and knowledge transfer within the broader communities.
